FAQ

How much does a tattoo cost?

There is a minimum charge of $120 and up. This covers anything from a single dot to a tattoo approximately the size of a toonie (a two-dollar coin for you non-Canucks.) The minimum charge helps us to cover the costs involved in using single-use instruments, running daily autoclave cycles, performing bi-monthly spore tests (as per Health Board regulations), making sure everything is brand new and disposed of properly, and many of the other day-to-day activities involved in running our shop. For larger, custom tattoos we have an hourly rate of $160/h + TAX. For anything that falls in between we will typically give you a rough price on the spot. Each tattoo is unique, so it MUST BE SEEN BY AN ARTIST BEFORE WE CAN PROVIDE AN ACCURATE QUOTE. We can’t give you an accurate quote over the phone.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept CASH ONLY! We don’t take debit, credit cards, checks or IOUs and there is no ATM on site. Be sure to have cash on hand when paying for your work. You are more than welcome to go to a bank if need be, but we will require some sort of collateral in order to be sure that you’re coming back.

What is your deposit policy?

Deposits are taken at the artists discretion and are NON REFUNDABLE. If you fail to honour your scheduled appointment, cancel/reschedule with LESS THAN 48 HOURS NOTICE or fail to produce valid identification at the the time of your appointment we will keep your deposit and require a new deposit in order to rebook your appointment. If you have any further questions regarding our deposit policy, please feel free to ask.

What is your touch-up policy?

We proudly stand behind the work we do and want to ensure that you are 100% happy with your tattoo. It is because of this that we offer ONE FREE TOUCH-UP within 4 MONTHS of your original tattoo appointment. We DO NOT, however, offer free touch-ups on HAND OR FOOT TATTOOS as these places are notoriously difficult to heal. If you require a touch-up on your hand or foot, you will need to pay the shop minimum of $100 (or more depending on how much work needs to be done). The same is true for LARGE TRIBAL TATTOOS which can require more than one session to remain black .

How old do I have to be in order to get a tattoo or piercing?

FOR TATTOOS you must be 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER and able to provide proof of age in order to have work done without parental consent. Suitable identification can consist of a government issued drivers license, photo health card, or passport. We will also accept a student ID card in conjunction with a birth certificate OR a non-photo health card in conjunction with a birth certificate. The bottom line is that we need something with your name, birth date and a photo in order to prove that you are who you say you are…NO EXCEPTIONS! YOU CAN GET TATTOOED AT THE AGE OF 16, but you must be ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT and we will require identification from both the individual getting tattooed AND the accompanying parent. In these cases YOUR SURNAMES MUST BE THE SAME. No, your fun aunt/uncle/brother/sister/family friend can not sign for you. No, your parent can’t phone in their consent. No, your parent can’t write you a letter of consent.
FOR PIERCINGS the minimum age can vary depending on what you would like to have pierced. Feel free to call us in order to find out the acceptable ages for the work you would like to have done. We follow the same identification qualifications for piercings as we do for tattoos.

How can we be sure that you are using clean needles?

All of our sterile equipment will be opened in front of you, the customer. Our artists know the importance of your concerns and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We pride ourselves on being respected by the Hamilton Health Board who inspect the premises several times each year. Professionalism is just as important to us as it is to you. It is for this reason that each of us takes our work very seriously.

Does it hurt?

Yes…but you will get through it.

Can I choose my artist?

Absolutely! Feel free to browse our Instagram, Google Page, and this site. OR book a free consult in order to speak to an artist directly. The choice is always yours to make, but we will be happy to recommend an artist who would be best suited for your tattoo. Be aware that some of our artists are busier than others and must be booked further in advance, but ALL of our artists are personable, knowledgeable and more than happy to help you out.
